A picture book in Chinese, English and Japanese was recently published by China Agriculture Press to introduce the tea-making and tea culture of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The book has six chapters and one appendix, using pictures to tell the story of a Guizhou girl learning to make tea and promote the Guizhou tea industry.

It is expected to make Chinese tea-making more popular around the world.

Guizhou's tea-making method uses hot water to increase the fragrance of the tea and separate the tea water and tea leaves immediately to avoid a bitter taste.

The method also uses a large number of tea leaves to make strong tea, and does not involve washing the tea leaves in advance due to Guizhou's clean tea production process.

Guizhou currently boasts 7 million mu (466,667 hectares) of tea gardens, ranking first in China. It is also China's only tea production area with a high altitude, low latitude, cloudy weather and no environmental pollution.

Guizhou tea boasts large amounts of amino acids and low amounts of tea polyphenol.

In 2014, Guizhou banned 128 kinds of herbicides and water-soluble pesticides in tea gardens, far more than the 62 nationally banned kinds. Guizhou's 47 tea production counties have all established tea production trace systems.

Guizhou's tea has passed safety and quality inspections carried out by national and provincial agriculture departments for the past 10 years.
