Southwest China's Guizhou province is becoming more popular among tourists for its year-round tourism. In 2021, Guizhou added 11 national 4A-level scenic spots, was home to 120,000 tourism market entities and was visited 644 million times.

Last year, Guizhou's tourism revenue was 664.22 billion yuan ($104.93 billion), the added value of the tourism sector exceeded 100 billion yuan, and the expenditure per tourist was more than 1,000 yuan.

In 2022, the added value of Guizhou's tourism sector is expected to increase by more than 15 percent year-on-year, and the expenditure per tourist is expected to increase by more than 10 percent.

Li Shiqiang, a deputy to the Guizhou Provincial People's Congress and Party secretary of Liupanshui's Zhongshan district, said that the district is home to the Meihuashan Ski Resort, the largest outdoor ski resort in Southwest China.

The ski resort has signed cooperation agreements with schools to promote ice and snow sports among students. Zhongshan district also offers hot spring and ski tourism products with preferential prices for tourists.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, Zhongshan district was visited 1.45 million times and earned 1.35 billion yuan in tourism revenue. The district has been promoting ice and snow sports via both offline and online channels as the Beijing Winter Olympics approach.

To help tourism recover from the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, Guizhou will develop integrated tourism businesses involving vocation and health care, mountain sports and tourism, cultural experience, and rural tourism.

Fu Chuanyao, a deputy to the Guizhou Provincial People's Congress, suggests that Guizhou should give full play to its advantages in terms of location, natural environment, agricultural products, and hot springs, and improve its services in entertainment, fitness and health care.
