The city of Wuxi – located in East China's Jiangsu province – is calling for concept proposals for the planned symphony hall which is scheduled to be built in its Xinwu district, according to statements released by the city's information office and Wuxi National Hi-tech District Administrative Committee at a news conference on Jan 21.
According to the conference, the project will include a symphony hall and two centers for art exchange and the performing arts, with a planned area of 100,000 square meters. The symphony hall is expected to have 1,500 seats and a 500-seat chamber music hall.
The two centers are mainly for music performance, training and creation, exhibitions, entertainment, commercials, and other functions.
