The eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province will host a series of activities to vitalize the winter tourism market, local officials said.
According to a news conference held by the Qingdao municipal bureau of culture and tourism on Dec 21, the winter tourism promotional season will last from this December to February 2022 with over 160 themed activities to be held to attract tourists from surrounding cities.
In accordance with celebrations such as New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, Longtaitou Festival, and other traditional festivals, scenic spots and cultural venues in Qingdao will host cultural, sports and tourism-related activities to enrich winter tourism.
On Dec 22, a launch ceremony for winter tourism promotion will be held in the Qingdao West Coast New Area. Themed tourism products, new cultural tourism projects, and typical marketing events will be presented at the ceremony, and featured tourism routes, discounts and preferential policies will be released.
The city will also step up its efforts to tap into Generation Z consumers by cooperating with Bilibili, a leading video platform popular among China's younger generation, to create an offline carnival integrating entertainment and social interaction to highlight young and trendy culture of the generation.
