Laba Festival is a prelude to Chinese New Year

Today marks the Laba Festival, which falls on the eighth day of the last lunar month. As is the custom on this day, Chinese people eat Laba rice porridge and make Laba garlic. From today, they start their preparations for the Chinese New Year, such us shopping for the lunar New Year and cleaning their homes.
