This research was led by the National Center for Chronic and Noncommunicable Disease Control and Prevention of the China CDC and completed jointly with Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University Medical School.
The project won the first prize at the Science and Technology Awards of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association in 2019 and the third prize at the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Awards in 2020.
The project led to the establishment of a set of sampling, field investigation, quality control and multi-center laboratory testing systems for chronic diseases and risk factor monitoring in China that met the requirements of the World Health Organization and the national conditions of China. The information technology platforms have been improved and promoted.
The study has also provided support for several nationally representative epidemiological surveys on chronic diseases.
