A camel-mounted platoon of civilian soldiers from Alshaa Right Banner of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region is conducting its annual winter field training patrol. Among the goals is sharpening search and rescue abilities.
The platoon members are familiar with riding camels. The mission is conducted under harsh conditions, with blowing sand and temperatures plunging to minus 8 degrees Celsius.
The platoon was formed in October 2020. Its missions include regular patrols and dealing with emergencies along the border.
