Dec 27: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 200 new cases of confirmed infections (38 imported cases, 12 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 11 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Guangdong province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Henan province, including 15 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 11 in Guangxi, 2 in Sichuan, 1 in Tianjin and 1 in Henan; 162 indigenous cases, 152 in Shaanxi province including 150 in Xi’an, 1 in Xianyang and 1 in Weinan, 7 in Fangchenggang, Guangxi, 1 in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, 1 in Dongguan, Guangdong and 1 in Chengdu, Sichuan, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Guangxi), 4 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases, 2 in Shanghai and 2 in Zhejiang), and no deaths. 53 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 5,921 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 4.

As of 24:00 on Dec 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,932 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 10,194 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 738 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 6 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Dec 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 101,277 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 94,483 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,158 confirmed cases (including 13 cases in serious condition) and 6 suspected cases. 1,410,265 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 52,281 were still under medical observation.

On Dec 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 27 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 16 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 10 imported cases) and 20 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 15 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Dec 26, 495 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 468 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Dec 26, 29,581 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,589 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,189 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,915 in Taiwan (850 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
