SHENYANG -- A museum featuring the regional history and culture of Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, opened to the public on Tuesday, according to local authorities.
Covering a floor area of about 22,000 square meters, the museum holds 2,535 cultural relics, including a gold mask dating back to the Liao Dynasty (907-1125).
An exhibition at the museum showcases the city's history from the Paleolithic Age dating back 110,000 years ago to the year of 1948.
The museum also utilizes holographic images and other cutting-edge technologies to improve the experience of visitors.
