Statistics released on Nov 29 from CCID Consulting indicate that Guiyang ranks 49th on a list of the top 100 advanced manufacturing cities in China.
Investments in manufacturing sectors in Guiyang have been rising steadily, with the industrial added value of industries above a designated size up 7 percent from January to October, which is higher than the first three quarters by 0.3 percentage points. Meanwhile, the added value of Guiyang's eight key industries has increased by 10.5 percent year-on-year.
The city has been focusing on attracting more advanced manufacturing projects related to automobiles, auto spare parts, energy storage equipment, electronic information and healthcare, and attracting several industrial parks to Guiyang during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20).
Special attention has also been given to the cultivation of sci-tech firms involved in aerospace and aviation, automobiles, electric equipment, and mining machinery.
In an effort to achieve a higher level of intelligent manufacturing, Guiyang has also implemented a slew of projects in industrial robot application, digital workshops and smart factories.
