Guiyang city and Guian New Area – both situated in Southwest China's Guizhou province – are reportedly continuing to boost their green and high-quality industrial development through key measures introduced in recent years, to pave the way for new industries.
The two are said to have accelerated the construction of three 100-billion-yuan-level industry clusters: a data center cluster, an electronics information manufacturing cluster and a software and information technology services cluster.
It's understood that by adhering to high-end, green and intensive development, Guiyang and Guian have successfully optimized supply chains in a number of lucrative areas – automobile manufacturing, smart homes, organic food, the power battery industry, hydrogen energy, aluminum-based new materials, phosphorus-based new materials and chemicals.
Guiyang's Xifeng county is said to have established a phosphogypsum supply chain centered on related enterprises and achieved a cluster development. To date, Xifeng has reportedly introduced 17 manufacturers that transform industrial residues into phosphogypsum – used in agriculture for soil amendments or as fertilizer, as well as in the bricks and cement industry and in road construction.
With investment from major corporations – such as Hengli Group and COFCO Coca-Cola – Guian New Area has established industrial parks for the organic food industry, the high-end equipment manufacturing industry and the high-end textile industry.
Guiyang's Guanshanhu district has leveraged auto giant Geely's manufacturing there to attract 30 vehicle component manufacturers, 13 of which have achieved annual revenues of more than 20 million yuan ($3.13 million) each.
In the future, plans are for Guiyang and Guian to continue to boost their green and high-quality development of industrial clusters by attracting investment, constructing key projects and cultivating major enterprises.
