The Foreign Affairs Office of the Tianjin Municipal People's Government held a series of symposiums this week with foreign experts, top executives and international students to share their insights on the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.

Luan Jianzhang, director of the foreign affairs office, chaired the event, had in-depth discussions with the participants and keenly listened to their advice on boosting the city’s business climate.
During the event, they lauded the experience of the CPC have accumulated throughout the past century, the reforms and opening up, its fight against the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic and great achievements it has made since the 18th National Congress of the CPC.
Steven James Moody, president of Tianjin Campus, Tianjin TEDA International School, who has been working in China for more than 25 years, said: “Through the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and today's symposium, I have learned more about the CPC’s development. We know that many people in the world hold a critical attitude towards the CPC, but we should speak with facts. In China, we see that COVID-19 epidemic prevention has been done very well. In addition, China has also been very successful in poverty alleviation and infrastructure construction.” He also praised Tianjin’s green ecology and its transformation in the past decade.

Shin Donghwan, president of Tianjin Korean Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said:“Through this symposium, I learned about the 100-year history of the CPC, and also understood why it has made such brilliant achievements in the past century and the future direction of the Party. This is very beneficial for foreigners living in Tianjin.”

In addition, The Foreign Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal People's Government and the Tianjin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries launched the guidebook Foreigners Living in Tianjin Know Everything on Dec 13.
“This book is very useful for foreigners who are new to Tianjin and can help them know what to do when they first come to Tianjin. The electronic version of the book is very convenient to use, once you have any needs, you can check it at any time,” said Kaufung Martin Heribert, CFO of Flender Ltd., China.
