The water environment in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province has significantly improved, with Zhitian River, Mingtang River, and Zhuxi River having clean water and picturesque sceneries.
The improvement of the water environment in Tai'an has been attributed to the city's commitment to ecological protection and restoration projects for mountains, waters, forests, fields, lakes and flora which were implemented in July 2019.
One of the parties involved in these projects is China Tiegong Investment and Construction Group, which dredged silt and built dry-laid lead wire gabions along both banks of the rivers.
A total of 950,000 cubic meters of silt in the three rivers have been dredged, according to the group.
Eight landscape parks such as the Lingxi Bay and the Hamming Bay have also been built to provide citizens with a recreational area that integrates tourism, culture, leisure and fitness.
"The water ecological environment governance project is our commitment to constructing a beautiful Tai'an city and serving the people," said Nian Fubing, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of China Tiegong Investment and Construction Group.
