Dec 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 75 new cases of confirmed infections (26 imported cases, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Sichuan; 49 indigenous cases, 38 in Zhejiang province including 22 in Shaoxing, 8 in Hangzhou and 8 in Ningbo, 10 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, including 20 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Zhejiang), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 24 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,014 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Dec 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,457 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,953 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 504 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Dec 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 99,679 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 93,720 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,323 confirmed cases (including 28 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,358,671 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 49,810 were still under medical observation.

On Dec 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 20 new asymptomatic cases (10 imported cases; 10 indigenous cases, 9 in Zhejiang including 8 in Shaoxing and 1 in Hangzhou, and 1 in Wuxi, Jiangsu province). 14 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 11 imported cases) and 21 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Dec 11, 474 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 401 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Dec 11, 29,291 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,483 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,165 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,731 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
