Dashudao Cultural Tourism Festival set for Dec 9

The Dashudao Cultural Tourism Festival is about to kick off on Dec 9 in Zengjiashan, an area in the city of Guangyuan in Southwest China's Sichuan province. It will end on Dec 10, according to a press briefing held by city authorities.

Organized by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Guangyuan people's government, the event will feature shudao, or man-made ancient post roads to Sichuan.

During this period, an opening ceremony will be held and planned events will include the second meeting of the Dashudao Cultural Tourism Development Alliance Council, self-driving tour activities, cultural route field trips, calligraphy and photography exhibitions and the Shudao Suite of Songs, an original large-scale symphonic chorus performance.

Highlights from the activities will be available for viewing online.

As the only Shudao culture festival approved by the Sichuan provincial Party committee and provincial government, the event has been successfully held for 10 consecutive years.

The event aims to enhance the influence of the cultural tourism brands of Jianmen Pass, Shudao and Empress Wu's Hometown, said Zhang Xuntu, secretary general of the municipal government.
