Dec 7: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 94 new cases of confirmed infections (34 imported cases, 13 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Sichuan province, 5 in Yunnan province, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 5 in Sichuan, 1 in Guangdong and 1 in Shaanxi; 60 indigenous cases, 55 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan and 1 in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Inner Mongolia), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 47 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,595 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. As of 24:00 on Dec 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,316 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,874 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 442 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Dec 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 99,297 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 93,554 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,107 confirmed cases (including 16 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,341,664 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 36,973 were still under medical observation.

On Dec 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 14 new asymptomatic cases (10 imported cases; 4 indigenous cases, 2 in Ningbo, Zhejiang, 1 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 21 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 18 imported cases) and 9 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 7 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Dec 6, 471 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 404 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Dec 6, 29,205 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,466 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,151 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,662 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
