BIT, a warm home for international students

A "welcome home" event was held for international alumni of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) on Sep 25. They came back to their alma mater to express their gratitude to the university.

Some of them were influenced by family members who’d also studied at BIT, others were winners of the Excellent International Student Scholarship, and still others now teach in Chinese schools. They said they were lucky to get in touch with knowledgeable professors, talented and promising teachers, and their Chinese classmates.

BIT said it hopes all alumni can always pay attention to the development of China and the development of their alma mater, actively build a bridge of friendly exchanges and common development between China and other countries, and actively power the university's "double first-class construction", which means developing BIT into a world-class university with world-class disciplines.

During their visit, the alumni also visited the university's history museum and met their tutors through video link.

As China's first science and engineering university, BIT has an 81-year-old history. The university has launched a series of programs for next year’s international students. Topics that will include undergraduate and graduate programs, university and major selection, employment opportunities, a trip to BIT campus and life in Beijing will be introduced in detail.
