Dec 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 90 new cases of confirmed infections (15 imported cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 3 in Yunnan province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Guangdong; 75 indigenous cases, 61 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, 4 in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, 4 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan and 1 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Inner Mongolia), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 49 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 973 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Dec 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,242 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,825 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 417 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Dec 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 99,083 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 93,434 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,013 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,334,589 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 33,402 were still under medical observation.

On Dec 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 19 new asymptomatic cases (13 imported cases; 6 indigenous cases, 5 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan and 1 in Yangpu district, Shanghai). 15 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 13 imported cases) and 4 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Dec 3, 449 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 383 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Dec 3, 29,162 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,448 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,145 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,637 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
