2021 Hainan Island Carnival to open in Dec

The 2021 (22nd) Hainan Island Carnival will be held from Dec 10 to Dec 31, during which six cities in Hainan province will hold a series of exciting activities, offering up an annual joyous feast.

The event includes an opening ceremony, the "Happy Hainan" tourism promotion conference, 2021 Hainan World Leisure Tourism Expo, 2021 Hainan International Tourism and Food Expo, 2nd Hainan International Tourism Equipment Expo, 2nd Hainan World Culture Week, and 4th China-ASEAN University Student Culture Week.

Haikou is the event's main venue, while five other cities including Sanya, Danzhou, Qionghai, Wanning and Wenchang will serve as supporting venues. Haikou will launch 12 activities, including Art Performance Week, the Tang Dynasty (618-907) Chang'an Cultural Relics Exhibition, and the Duty-free Promotion Season.

Wang Liming, deputy director of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, said that the event will fully demonstrate the rich and unique tourism and cultural resources of Hainan. Through various activities, it will attract more tourists to visit the province, stimulate tourism consumption, and aid in the construction of the Hainan International Tourism Consumption Center.

The event has been held for 21 consecutive years and has gradually become an important event for Hainan’s tourism industry. The 2021 (22nd) Hainan Island Carnival is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Hainan Province.
