Nov 29: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 41 new cases of confirmed infections (20 imported cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Yunnan province, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Shandong province, 1 in Shanxi province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Guangdong; 21 indigenous cases, 20 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Inner Mongolia), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 39 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,744 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Nov 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,151 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,746 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 405 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 28, the National Health Commission had received reports of 98,672 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 93,249 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 787 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,327,083 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 34,317 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new asymptomatic cases (18 imported cases; 4 indigenous cases, 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, 1 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia and 1 in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang province). 11 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 9 imported cases) and 4 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 28, 456 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 385 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 28, 29,092 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,427 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,588 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
