Nov 24: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new cases of confirmed infections (18 imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province and 1 in Liaoning province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Sichuan; 4 indigenous cases, 2 in Dalian, Liaoning and 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 70 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,898 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Nov 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,060 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,677 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 383 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Nov 23, the National Health Commission had received reports of 98,546 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 92,952 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 958 confirmed cases (including 7 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,304,284 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 24,708 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 20 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 14 imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Nov 23, 489 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 360 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 23, 29,026 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,410 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,121 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,539 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
