Nov 23: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 19 new cases of confirmed infections (14 imported cases, 5 in Guangdong province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Guangdong and 1 in Sichuan; 5 indigenous cases, 4 in Dalian, Liaoning province and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 64 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,623 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Nov 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 10,042 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,657 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 385 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 98,524 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 92,882 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,006 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,303,584 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 27,908 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 18 new asymptomatic cases (16 imported cases; 2 indigenous cases in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 10 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 8 imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Nov 22, 494 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 359 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 22, 29,013 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,404 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,119 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,532 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
