The 2021 World Industrial Internet Conference opened in Qingdao, Shandong province on Oct 26 to promote the city's industrial internet development.
A number of prestige scholars and experts from well-known think tanks, universities, and institutes, including Liu Yunjie, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Yang Shanlin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Dr. O. S. Ganiyusufoglu, academician of Acatech, and Professor Robert E. Kahn, founding father of the internet, were invited to the conference to talk about cutting-edge industrial internet concepts and trends, and advance the development of the global industrial internet.
Themed exhibitions on "Platform Empowerment, Intelligent Leadership, 5G Convergence and Security Guarantee" were also held during the conference to showcase the cutting-edge technologies and solutions in the field of industrial internet, as well as new technologies and products in cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and network security.
Qingdao is among the first cities to promote the development of the industrial internet in the country. The city has launched a slew of measures to support enterprises with their digital and intelligent transformation and building of automated production lines, digital workshops and intelligent factories.
Since the first World Industrial Internet Conference held in Qingdao in 2015, the event has consistently gathered domestic and foreign industry giants and experts to provide new ideas to traditional manufacturing enterprises troubled by transformation and upgrading.
Qingdao is now home to 1,833 industrial internet ecological enterprises, 41 intelligent (interconnected) factories, 111 digital workshops and 299 automatic production lines.
