High-tech manufacturer Nantong Winspower Semiconductor Technology Co Ltd, located in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in the Tongzhou district of Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province, is said to be a pathfinder in the latest in technology.
It specializes in the research and development of active metal brazing technology and direct copper coating technology, as well as the manufacture of related products.
The site of the company, which settled in the Nantong high-tech development zone in March 2020, covers 4 hectares. The first phase of its facility there was completed and started production in July this year.
Its products are mainly used in the fields of new energy vehicles, rail traffic, laser generators, smart grids, wind power generation and in aerospace.
At present, copper-clad ceramic substrates applied in China in third-generation semiconductor modules are all imported from European countries and Japan. Moreover, samples provided by domestic manufacturers are said to be far from required industry standards.
"We have developed copper-clad ceramic substrates applied to power semiconductor modules and produced them in large quantities," said Xie Jihua, deputy general manager of Winspower Semiconductor Technology.
"The development of the product helps complete the industrial chain of semiconductor substrates and circuit boards, filling the domestic market gap," Xie added.
With an engineering and technical team composed of many foreign technical experts and senior R&D personnel, the company is also cooperating with Fudan University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Jiangsu University and many other universities.
"Our products have passed the tests and been recognized by dozens of well-known domestic and foreign manufacturers," Xie said.
