Aion, the electric arm of Guagnzhou-headquartered GAC Group, made the global debut of its LX Plus SUV, which has a range of over 1,000 kilometers on one charge.
Its dual electric motors enable the 4,835-millimeter long model to accelerate from zero to 100 km per hour in less than three seconds.
The model has two powertrain options. The one-electric motor model has a top torque of 350 Nm and a maximum output of 180 kW. The dual-motor version has top torque of 700 Nm and a maximum output of 360 kW.
Aion is one of the best-selling Chinese electric carmakers. It expects sales this year to reach 110,000 units, up from 60,000 units in 2020.
Its plant has an annual production capacity of 100,000 units. The carmaker said it will double the plant's capacity in early 2022 and start building another plant that has an annual capacity of 200,000 units.
Aion has built 279 showrooms in major cities across the country.
