On Oct 24, the Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (Peninsula Branch) and Yantai International Technology Trade Fair got under way in Yantai, a coastal city in East China’s Shandong province.
The conference had one main forum and three parallel conferences both online and offline. It was broadcasted all over the world in Chinese, English, Russian, Japanese, and Korean languages.
Yantai has a tradition of being open, cooperative and innovative, said Ma Peihua, vice-chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Ma added that he hopes that Yantai will continue to integrate itself into the global innovation network and deepen scientific and technological exchanges as well as cooperation internationally.
Zheng Deyan, mayor of Yantai, expressed a warm welcome to the guests and said that Yantai is attaching great importance to innovation-driven development, and is utilizing innovation as the main driving force with talent as the main resource for economic development.
Zheng expressed hope that more academicians, experts and entrepreneurs come to Yantai and participate in the construction and development of Yantai.
Experts from relevant institutions in Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Japan, and South Korea sent their congratulations via videos.
Four scientific and innovation platforms were unveiled during the event including one from Shandong Institutes of Industrial Technology (Yantai).
Agreements for 20 projects covering talent exchanges, technological cooperation and achievement transformation were signed such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology Joint Laboratory of Advanced Polyurethane Materials.
