The 7th Nano Today Conference was held in Guangzhou's Huangpu district from Nov 16 to 18 to discuss the latest research progress, achievements and development trends in the nano science and technology sector.
More than 100 international experts, scholars and enterprise elites from a dozen countries and regions and over 290 domestic representatives attended the main forum and four parallel sessions.
The conference was jointly organized by Nano Today, CanNano, the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, and Materials Today. Nano Today is one of the world's top academic journals and is dedicated to publishing the most influential and innovative work across the nano science and technology industry. It hosts the Nano Today Conference every two years to provide a platform for industry-related exchanges and cooperation.
In recent years, Huangpu has been striving to become a nano sci-tech innovation highland with international influence. It released 10 supportive measures to boost the development of the nano industry in December 2019, offering all-round incentives to R&D and industrialization.
CanNano, a national nanotechnology innovation research institute, was also established in the district. It employs more than 600 scientific researchers and R&D staff members, and has brought in over 30 high-level talent teams to develop scientific research projects.
The first phase of China Nano Valley was put into operation in Huangpu on July 1 this year. It is currently focusing on key projects in emerging industries such as genetic engineering, nano photoelectric devices, and new nano materials.
