Nov 16: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 15, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new cases of confirmed infections (11 imported cases, 5 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Sichuan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Zhejiang and 1 in Sichuan; 11 indigenous cases, 7 in Dalian, Liaoning province, 2 in Heihe, Heilongjiang province, 1 in Chaoyang district, Beijing municipality and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Liaoning), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 74 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,915 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. As of 24:00 on Nov 15, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,896 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,526 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 370 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 15, the National Health Commission had received reports of 98,337 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 92,406 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,295 confirmed cases (including 20 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,298,631 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 44,312 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 15, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 13 new asymptomatic cases (11 imported cases; 2 indigenous cases in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 19 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 17 imported cases) and 5 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 15, 510 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 359 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 15, 28,960 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,387 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,092 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (76 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,496 in Taiwan (848 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
