With the popularization of live-streaming, a new generation of information technology has gradually matured and the traffic dividends of traditional e-commerce have peaked, with live-streaming e-commerce rapidly emerging as a new engine for the growth of China's e-commerce.
According to statistics, in the first half of 2021, Beijing E-Town's online sales reached 115.66 billion yuan ($17.85 billion), a growth rate of 29.6 percent, becoming an important growth point for the area to cultivate an international consumption center.
Inside the E-Town High-tech Industrial Park in the BDA, the atmosphere in the live-streaming studio of Shanghai Pukang Data Technology (Group) Co., Ltd. is in full swing.
"We entered the BDA this April and mostly conduct live-streaming business with JD.com. In just one year, we have achieved sales of more than 6 billion yuan." The company's live-streaming e-commerce business director Liu Ning introduced.
As new technologies, such as 5G, 4K, and VR, have matured, traditional businesses have become more willing to develop online.
Live-streaming e-commerce has played an important role in promoting the development of small, medium and micro enterprises, driving consumption and employment.
The person in charge of the BDA's Bureau of Commerce and Finance remarked, "Currently, live-streaming e-commerce, as an important booster for the development of the commerce industry, has become one of the components of Beijing E-Town to cultivate an international consumption center."
In the future, the BDA will comprehensively promote the construction of 5G live-streaming e-commerce bases, and strengthen the infrastructure layout of content production, video technology, live-streaming scenes, and other fields centered on online shopping, local services, and live broadcasting.
