Whether it be at the 2021 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, where leading domestic and foreign AI companies gather, or at the first Intelligent Connected Vehicle Standardization Achievement Exhibition, hosted by the National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee, companies from the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) always attend.
To each event they bring their new standards and technologies to lead industrial growth.
New standards
Establish application standards for commercial vehicles
The "Seventh International Conference on Technology, Standards and Regulation of Intelligent Connected Vehicles (ICV 2021)" and the "First Standardization Achievement Exhibition of Intelligent Connected Vehicles" hosted by the National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee were held from July 6 to 8.
Truck Tech was invited to participate in the exhibition as a leading company in autonomous trucks.
In recent years, relying on the expert workstation of Li Deyi of the China Automotive Center and a number of national key research and development programs, Truck Tech and the China Automotive Center have conducted multiple pieces of research on common problems in the field of intelligent network commercial vehicles.
They have also completed a series of standardized projects including "Functional Test Regulations on Automated Driving of Intelligent Networked Vehicles”, and "Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Autonomous Driving Application of Intelligent Connected Vehicles".
Releasing research report on vehicle control operating system
At the 7th International Conference on Intelligent and Connected Vehicle Technology, Standards and Regulations, the research reports on "Vehicle Control Operating System Architecture" and "Overall Technical Requirements for Vehicle Control Operating Systems" led by a BDA enterprise, the China Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (Beijing) Research Institute, were released.
New technologies
Self-driving trucks create application scenarios
This year, Pony.ai attended the Shanghai World Artificial Intelligence Conference from July 7 to July 10.
It has taken to the stage for four consecutive years, demonstrating its latest self-developed autonomous driving technology.
The self-driving trucks developed by Pony.ai have conducted road tests for more than 200 days. The company has currently completed the transportation of approximately 13,650 tons of freight, with a commercial operating mileage of 37,466 kilometers.
In addition, Iris, a high-performance long-range lidar produced by Luminar, a lidar company that recently cooperated with Pony.ai, also made its debut at the event.
Pony.ai plans to mass-produce automotive-grade autonomous driving systems in 2023.
Cloud computing power supports intelligent services for unmanned vehicles
Two BDA companies, Banma and Neolix, signed a cooperation agreement at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference on July 8, to jointly create an unmanned AI vehicle solution supported by cloud computing power, using integrated software and hardware.
