China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) in Guangzhou's Huangpu district was granted the 10th Business China Award on Nov 8 for its contribution to China-Singapore cooperation and mutual development.
Founded in 2007, Business China is a non-profit organization that commits to bridging culture and the economy between China and the world. It set up the Business China Awards in 2010 to honor the entrepreneurs, businessmen, professionals, enterprises and organizations that make great contributions to the friendly relationship between China and Singapore or those who increase the Singaporeans' appreciation and acceptance of Chinese language and culture.
As a bilateral State-level cooperation project, the CSGKC covers 232 square kilometers in northern Huangpu. It is striving to become a new highland in knowledge creation, an international harbor for talents, a demonstration zone for opening up and cooperation, and an important engine for the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
To date, CSGKC is home to more than 20,000 market entities with a total registered capital of over 400 billion yuan ($63 billion). Sixty China-Singapore cooperation projects have signed agreements to settle in the area. Local fixed-asset investment surpassed 58.3 billion yuan in 2020.
