Nov 9: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 8, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 62 new cases of confirmed infections (19 imported cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Sichuan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Sichuan, 1 in Guangdong and 1 in Guangxi; 43 indigenous cases, 12 in Hebei province including 11 in Xinji and 1 in Shijiazhuang, 8 in Heilongjiang province including 7 in Heihe and 1 in Harbin, 7 in Chengdu, Sichuan, 5 in Dalian, Liaoning province, 4 in Gansu province including 3 in Lanzhou and 1 in Tianshui, 3 in Shangrao, Jiangxi province, 2 in Zhengzhou, Henan province and 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, including 8 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Gansu, 2 in Henan, 2 in Sichuan and 1 in Heilongjiang), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 42 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,245 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Nov 8, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,779 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,386 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 393 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Nov 8, the National Health Commission had received reports of 97,885 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 92,027 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,222 confirmed cases (including 27 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,283,647 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 50,079 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 8, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 74 new asymptomatic cases (28 imported cases; 46 indigenous cases, 27 in Dalian, Liaoning, 8 in Henan including 5 in Zhoukou and 3 in Zhengzhou, 6 in Shangrao, Jiangxi and 5 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 11 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 9 imported cases) and 12 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 8, 507 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 350 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 8, 28,890 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,368 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,036 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (75 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,445 in Taiwan (847 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
