On Nov 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 55 new cases of confirmed infections (15 imported cases, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Sichuan and 1 in Tianjin; 40 indigenous cases, 16 in Heihe, Heilongjiang province, 9 in Hebei province including 8 in Xinji and 1 in Shijiazhuang, 3 in Dalian, Liaoning province, 3 in Zhengzhou, Henan province, 3 in Chengdu, Sichuan, 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, 2 in Lanzhou, Gansu province, 1 in Alshaa League, Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Shangrao, Jiangxi province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Henan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 43 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,333 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 6.

As of 24:00 on Nov 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,712 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,341 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 371 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Nov 5, the National Health Commission had received reports of 97,660 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,883 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,141 confirmed cases (including 31 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,274,940 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 46,630 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 27 new asymptomatic cases (13 imported cases; 14 indigenous cases, 7 in Zhengzhou, Henan, 2 in Dalian, Liaoning, 2 in Chengdu, Sichuan, 1 in Harbin, Heilongjiang, 1 in Shangrao, Jiangxi and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan). 14 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 6 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 3 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 5, 433 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 344 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 5, 28,874 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,360 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,035 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (75 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,437 in Taiwan (847 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
