Heilong River freezes with winter's early arrival

As temperatures continue to drop with the coming of winter, the Heilong River in Huma county of Heilongjiang province began to freeze.

Huge crystal ice floes on the river rumble audibly, and the spectacular scene attracts many residents and photographers.

"The river started the flow-ice period in early November every year and will be completely frozen in late November, which also marks the beginning of its six-month frozen period," said Li Yansong, director of the county's water resource bureau.

Local police officials also reminded residents not to get close to the river to avoid danger.
