Nov 2: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 71 new cases of confirmed infections (17 imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Zhejiang and 1 in Tianjin; 54 indigenous cases, 27 in Heilongjiang province including 26 in Heihe and 1 in Harbin, 8 in Hebei province including 4 in Shijiazhuang and 4 in Xinji, 8 in Tianshui, Gansu province, 3 in Rizhao, Shandong province, 2 in Alshaa League, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shangrao, Jiangxi province, 2 in Xining, Qinghai province, 1 in Changping district, Beijing and 1 in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Shandong and 2 in Jiangxi), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 28 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 5,667 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Nov 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,654 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,275 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 379 confirmed cases (2 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 1, the National Health Commission had received reports of 97,314 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,766 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 912 confirmed cases (including 35 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,258,560 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 38,660 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 13 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 10 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 9 imported cases) and 9 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 1, 392 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 351 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 1, 28,841 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,347 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,034 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (73 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,417 in Taiwan (847 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
