Class for top physics students opens at Shanxi University

The opening ceremony for the 2021 Shanxi University training base for top physics students was held at the university on Oct 12.

The national basic discipline top-notch student cultivation program 2.0 aims to train outstanding natural scientists, social scientists, and medical scientists for the future.

Huang Guitian, president of the university, introduced the training model of program 2.0, and reviewed the university's long history and tradition of talent cultivation.

Twenty-five students were selected into Class 01 of the Physics Top-notch Student Program at Sanli Honors College.

As a specialized management institution for the training of top-notch students in basic disciplines at Shanxi University, the college will be responsible for the selection and distribution of top-notch students, daily teaching, assessment, carrying out various academic activities, and cooperation and exchange with domestic and foreign universities and scientific research institutions.
