Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, plans to give its counties full 5G network coverage by constructing 544 700-megahertz 5G base stations in townships, towns and villages across the city.
The construction plan is part of Guiyang's efforts to promote the building of communication infrastructure in rural areas. The 700 MHz frequency band has wide coverage, high speed and deep penetration.
Together with the 2.6 gigahertz frequency band, the 700 MHz 5G base stations will form part of a high-efficiency 5G network and meet the various development needs of e-commerce.
Currently, the first group of 700 MHz 5G base stations has been built in Guiyang's Huaxi district and Xiuwen county.
In the future, Guiyang bureau of big data development and management plans to keep improving network coverage in rural areas and eliminate gaps in network infrastructure in rural and urban areas.
