Oct 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 78 new cases of confirmed infections (19 imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Hubei province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Zhejiang, 1 in Beijing, 1 in Guangdong and 1 in Guangxi; 59 indigenous cases, 26 in Heihe, Heilongjiang province, 19 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region including 18 in Alshaa League and 1 in Xiliin Gol League, 11 in Gansu province including 5 in Lanzhou, 4 in Tianshui and 2 in Zhangye, 2 in Changping district, Beijing and 1 in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 748 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Oct 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,581 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,202 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 379 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 97,080 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,681 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 763 confirmed cases (including 39 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,249,288 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 46,111 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new asymptomatic cases (18 imported cases; 6 indigenous cases, 4 in Rizhao, Shandong province, 1 in Heihe, Heilongjiang and 1 in Yinchuan, Ningxia). 31 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 7 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 29, 396 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 349 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 29, 28,818 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,342 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,033 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (72 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,399 in Taiwan (847 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
