The Tangbula Grasslands
唐布拉草原
The Tangbula Grasslands are situated in the eastern Nilka county, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Meaning “seals” in Kazak, the grasslands are named after the rocks on the northern slope of the nearby Awulale Mountain, which highly resemble the shapes of seals and signets.
The grasslands are renowned for their picturesque scenery of upland and valley meadows, including landscapes of lakes, springs and dragon spruces. Other major attractions are the Aersilang Rock Forests and 113 valleys, of which the Aken, or Kazak folk poets, can improvise the scenery of each!
