Napahai Grasslands
纳帕海草原
A renowned attraction of the Napahai Nature Reserve, the Napahai Grasslands lie in the Shangrila county of the Dechen Tibet autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province. The grasslands are made up of typical swamp meadows and enjoy a humid climate that nourishes their lush foliage and wild flowers. To their west stand three snowy mountains, and all together they compose an intriguing highland vista speckled with herds of cattle and sheep throughout the summer.
The Napahai Grasslands provide a wonderful habitat for many precious birds. The black-necked crane, included in the Near Threatened list on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, enjoys abundant food and a pleasant climate here. A number of greylags, ruddy shelducks and barhead geese also call the grasslands home.
