An adult wild red fox has settled down in the Saihantal Grassland located in Baotou, a city in N China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region. It lives on pheasants, wild ducks, and hares, which are plentiful in this area.
"It has lived here for a while and has not been troubled by human activity," said Feng Deqiang, captain of the Qingshan district detachment of the Baotou wildlife rescue center.
Red foxes are a second-level nationally protected animal. According to Feng, wild red foxes have been found in suburban Baotou in recent years.
