Over the past three years, Gao Xue has achieved success with her hand-knitting skills and helped over 6,000 stay-at-home mothers across the country to make some money.
Gao, 30, from Gongzhuling in Northeast China's Jilin province, learned hand-knitting in 2019 via the video-sharing platform Kuaishou.
"To be able to take care of my young daughter well, I became a full-time mother since my divorce in 2015," she said. "I found that knitting handicrafts is a good way to have more free time while still earning money."
After mastering the skill, she opened an account on the platform and soon attracted over 20,000 followers.
"My products were well accepted by the customers and the demand exceeded my supplies," she said. "As some of my followers asked to learn the skill, I got the idea of banding them together."
