Oct 26: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 43 new cases of confirmed infections (14 imported cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Sichuan province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Henan, 1 in Guangdong and 1 in Sichuan; 29 indigenous cases, 16 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region including 15 in Alshaa League and 1 in Ordos, 6 in Lanzhou, Gansu province, 3 in Changping district, Beijing, 3 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region including 1 in Yinchuan, 1 in Wuzhong and 1 in Zhongwei, and 1 in Rizhao, Shandong, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Ningxia), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 13 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 624 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Oct 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,521 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,135 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 386 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 25, the National Health Commission had received reports of 96,840 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,601 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 603 confirmed cases (including 21 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 1,233,485 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 33,307 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 26 new asymptomatic cases (21 imported cases; 5 indigenous cases, 2 in Zunyi, Guizhou province, 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province and 1 in Changping, Beijing). 16 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 6 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 25, 384 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 349 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 25, 28,780 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,327 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,023 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (66 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,376 in Taiwan (847 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
