Oct 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 39 new cases of confirmed infections (4 imported cases, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region; 35 indigenous cases, 19 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region including 18 in Alshaa League and 1 in Xiliin Gol League, 4 in Zunyi, Guizhou province, 4 in Gansu province including 3 in Lanzhou and 1 in Jiayuguan, 2 in Beijing municipality including 1 in Fengtai district and 1 in Haidian district, 2 in Xingtai, Hebei province, 2 in Changsha, Hunan province and 2 in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Hebei, 2 in Hunan and 1 in Guizou), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Inner Mongolia), and no deaths. 30 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 687 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 7.

As of 24:00 on Oct 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,507 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,124 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 383 confirmed cases (without cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 96,797 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,588 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 573 confirmed cases (including 20 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,230,300 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 30,747 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 13 new asymptomatic cases (10 imported cases; 3 indigenous cases, 1 in Fengtai, Beijing, 1 in Zigong, Sichuan province and 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province). 8 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 7 imported cases) and 5 (indigenous cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Oct 24, 380 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 348 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 24, 28,768 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,323 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,019 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (66 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,368 in Taiwan (846 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
