On Oct 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 50 new cases of confirmed infections (12 imported cases, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Tianjin and 1 in Guangdong; 38 indigenous cases, 17 in Gansu province including 13 in Lanzhou, 2 in Zhangye, 1 in Jiayuguan and 1 in Longnan, 11 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region including 9 in Alshaa League and 2 in Xiliin Gol League, 6 in Changping district, Beijing municipality, 3 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region including 2 in Wuzhong and 1 in Yinchuan, 1 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Gansu), 1 new case of suspected infections (an indigenous case in Inner Mongolia), and no deaths. 19 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 755 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 4.

As of 24:00 on Oct 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,486 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 9,072 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 414 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Oct 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 96,715 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,530 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 549 confirmed cases (including 7 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,224,969 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 26,626 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 17 new asymptomatic cases (11 imported cases; 6 indigenous cases, 2 in Zunyi, Guizhou province, 2 in Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, 2 in Ningxia including 1 in Yinchuan and 1 in Wuzhong). 13 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 12 imported cases) and 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 22, 385 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 354 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 22, 28,747 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,313 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 12,012 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (66 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,357 in Taiwan (846 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
