In the run-up to the 18th China-ASEAN Expo, Guiyang city and Guian New Area – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – will co-host a trade and commerce exchange meeting on Sept 9.
The expo itself will be held in the city of Nanning, in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 10-13.
During the exchange meeting, Guiyang and Guian will showcase their attractive and appealing features, sign foreign investment projects and seek out business opportunities with ASEAN countries and members of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, or RCEP, trading bloc.
It is understood that Guiyang and Guian will also give briefings on current business conditions, natural ecosystems and tourism resources – in order to raise their profile with ASEAN countries, broker deals with RCEP members in cross-border commerce, as well expand their trading in services, bilateral investment, culture and tourism.
To date, about 100 guests have confirmed they will attend the meeting, including representatives of the China-ASEAN Business Council and Alibaba Group's logistics arm, Cainiao.
