Shanxi University Library released an analysis on the disciplinary competitiveness of Shanxi University (SXU) for the year 2021 at a meeting held on Sept 16.
Yang Guang, vice-director of the library, provided a detailed briefing on the content of the report.
Attendees put forward opinions on improvements that could be made to the report, as well as suggestions for the library's services.
Xiao Long, director of the library, said it would summarize the feedback and work on improving its research support services.
Since 2019, the library has compiled and released annual reports on SXU's disciplinary competitiveness.
The library has successively analyzed the performances of 11 disciplines at SXU, including physics, philosophy, computer science, chemistry, law, management science and engineering.
It has done this through collecting scientific literature, dynamic tracking, intelligence analysis and data analysis, providing decision-making references for the university's discipline development and scientific research.
