Oct 15: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 10 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Tianjin, 1 in Yunnan and 1 in Shaanxi), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 84 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,278 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Oct 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,367 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 8,891 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 476 confirmed cases (without cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 14, the National Health Commission had received reports of 96,488 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,296 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 556 confirmed cases (without cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,208,771 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 21,664 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 25 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 16 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 14 imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Oct 14, 376 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 366 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 14, 28,674 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,276 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 11,971 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (66 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,321 in Taiwan (846 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
