Oct 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shandong province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Zhejiang), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 46 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 946 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Oct 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 9,337 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 8,850 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 487 confirmed cases (without cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Oct 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 96,457 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 91,176 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 645 confirmed cases (without cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,207,671 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 22,802 were still under medical observation.

On Oct 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 20 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 19 imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Oct 12, 359 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 345 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Oct 12, 28,658 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 12,272 in Hong Kong (213 had died and 11,956 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 77 in Macao (64 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 16,309 in Taiwan (846 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
