GAC Honda launched the new Accord sedan on Saturday with nine variants at suggested prices ranging from 169,800-259,800 yuan ($26,380-40,370).
The model has two powertrain variants. The Sport Hybrid features the third-generation i-MMD dual-motor hybrid system, which can generate a maximum output of 158 kilowatts and a top torque of 315 Newton meters. The powertrain offers three modes: pure electric, hybrid and engine direct-drive.
The Sport Turbo features a 1.5-liter engine with Variable Valve Timing and Valve Lift Electronic Control system with Turbo Direct Injection. This setup can generate a maximum output of 143 kilowatts and a top torque of 260 Newton meters.
The 10th-edition Accord is equipped with the Honda Connect 3.0 intelligent system, which features a voice assistant, mobile phone remote control and online upgrades.
To provide a better driving experience, the new Accord features the Honda Sensing driving assistance system and Traffic Jam Assistant system. This allows the car to follow others ahead of it, using adaptive cruise control at low to medium speeds.
GAC Honda has sold more than 2.8 million Accords in China. By the end of September, a total of 133,591 units of Accord were sold in China this year.
